2010 American Legion Regional Championships
August 5-9, 2010
WELCOME TO SPOKANE!
The 2010 NW Regional Committee welcomes you to Spokane for the Region 7 American Legion Baseball Championship Tournament.
This 5 day double elimination tournament at beautiful Patterson Baseball Complex on the campus of Gonzaga University features
top teams from Alaska, Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming and Wisconsin along with the host Spokane Blue Devils.
Congratulations to all the players, coaches, parents and fans that are here in Spokane to play and watch the great game of
baseball, America's pastime. There is something wonderful about the game of baseball and its connection with American history.
During many dark times in our nation's past, the game of baseball has served the American people as a beacon of hope about what
is good and right about our country.
It is a tremendous achievement for each of the 8 tournament teams to be here and have an opportunity to stay over in Spokane
another week to participate in the 2010 American Legion World Series. Hopefully the players will be able to look back on their time
here at the NW Regional Championship fondly and have some memories that last a lifetime.
Thank go out to all of the volunteers from the NW Regional committee, Spokane American Legion Baseball, the Spokane Sports
Commission, American Legion Posts 9 and 241, American Legion national baseball coordinator Jim Quinlan, Tournament Director
Rueben Nathe, Assistant Tournament Director Gary Stone and Gonzaga University's own Oliver Pierce, the official scorekeeper,
along with the Gonzaga University Athletic Department. Special thanks go out to Harry Amend, Tournament Vice-Chairman and
Deanna Willoughby of Post 241, our Volunteer Coordinator and my wife Laura for their countless hours of work and for their
support. Also the financial contributions of our Sponsors and Supporters have helped make this tournament possible. Thanks.
Now let's play some baseball!
